A Vase in Two Colours
I played with colours above it painterly yellow streaks diagonally, magenta light trails to the right, contrasting sleek static form with frenetic trails. Complementary colours create depth, guiding the eye. The second image uses only violet/red as mood setter, softer, with one ribbon-shaped strand of magenta light flowing upwards into nothingness. A little shift in perspective, everything looks brand new.
No Nuclear:
There isn't much subtlety here this drenched-in-red piece screams, clearly a statement about danger. The centrepiece: a vintage gas mask, its glass eye almost sculptural, ribbed hose conveying urgency, aged metal and creased rubber anchoring us to reality. A partially obscured "NO NUCLEAR" sign appears behind it. The tight, claustrophobic composition and colorisation manufacture dread and contamination rather than document.
